The Oula Vase

This is large vase statement piece, originally we had designed some large lamp shades for a private client. It was only when they were in the cold shop finishing department that we both said wow they would make a mighty fine vase and with a few design changes 'the oula' was born.

A contemporary design is blown into a large saturated wooden mould. the shape is formed by the molten hot glass flowing on a bed of steam while being inflated by the glassblower. We have introduced a fantastic bubble effect by trapping air bubbles between the layers of clear and coloured glass.

These vases look great as a centre piece on a big table or even on the floor with long stemmed flowers like Lillies, Iries, Sunflowers, Roses, Bird of Paradise.
