The Wavy Vase

The Wavy vase pays homage to the Legendary Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto. Originally titled  vase design “Leather trousers of Eskimo Woman” inspired originally by the clothes worn by the Sami woman. I became to known and famous as the “Savoy vase” as it one of the products that designed for the Savoy restaurant in Helsinki that opened in 1937.

We free blow these vases applying the coloured stripes with solid colour bar heated up to over 1200 degree centigrade.

We free blow these vases applying the coloured stripes with solid colour bar heated up to over 1200 degree centigrade. Then when the vase is still a straight sided vase we gently hand sculpt the curves into the top section using a carefully formed cork tool.

These vases work equally on their own or as nesting vases as they like to up cuddle together in groups of 2 - 3 - 4.

As vases work very well with the flowers stems naturally falling into the undulating curved forms around the lip of the vase.

These vases come in two sizes and a variety of colour options so perfect for long stemmed flower or smaller bunches of flowers.
