We are delighted to be hosting 2 workshops this year as part of the St. Duthus Book & Arts Festival.
Sat 12th Sept - MAKE YOUR OWN PAPERWEIGHT
Pick your colour first, then step up to the bench & help bring your glass PAPERWEIGHT to life. you will use simple tools & some guidance to shape the glass, turning constantly as it softens & moves. A few quick heats in the glory hole keep it workable, then it is all about gentle pressure, steady turning, & small adjustments to get that perfect shape.
Once you are happy with it, your PAPERWEIGHT goes into the kiln to cool slowly overnight. We will let you know when it is ready for collection & ready to take home. PLEASE NOTE THAT PAPERWEIGHTS WILL BE UNABLE TO BE TAKEN STRAIGHT AWAY BUT CAN BE COLLECTED A FEW DAYS LATER ALTERNATIVELY WE WOULD BE HAPPY TO POST AT A SMALL ADDITIONAL COST.
Max 3 participants per Session - Approx. 45 mins (age 12+) - under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

SUN 13TH SEPT - BLOW YOUR OWN BAUBLE - LAST FEW LEFT
Working with hot molten glass, you will add colour, shape the glass at the bench & with guidance from our glassmakers, gently blow air into the piece as it grows. With a few reheats along the way, you will gradually form and refine your bauble into its finished shape. once finished it will go into the kiln to cool slowly overnight. PLEASE NOTE THAT BAUBLES WILL BE UNABLE TO BE TAKEN STRAIGHT AWAY BUT CAN BE COLLECTED FROM THE NEXT DAY - LATE AFTERNOON OR WE WOULD BE HAPPY TO POST AT A SMALL ADDITIONAL COST.
